The new documentary from John Kennedy and David Saich
tells the story of Abraham Jam, an interfaith acoustic trio making the case that sometimes harmony can be even stronger than unity.
A Muslim, a Jew, and a Christian walk into a concert hall …
In historically divisive times, it’s good to be reminded that we don’t have to sing the same notes in order to form deep friendships and create community and art. Sometimes, we can sing different notes that sound beautiful together.
Braided Prayer has been selected for inclusion at four film festivals thus far:
• INDIA: NexGn International Short Film Festival (Official Selection, and Finalist)
• NETHERLANDS: The Hague Global Cinema Festival (Official Selection)
• USA: San Jose International Short Film Festival (Official Selection)
• USA: Twin Cities Jewish Film Festival (Official Selection)
If your faith community, college, or civic group would like to book Abraham Jam for an online screening of the film, with live questions and response, and one song performed live, we would love to hear from you. We would also love to hear from you about live performance in the future, when that becomes safe again.
A word about fees: For film screenings, the band has a base charge, but there is flexibility. We truly believe in this message and this music, so if your organization can’t afford that fee, we would still love to talk with you about how to make it happen. Conversely, if your group has funds to pay more than the base price, that can help another organization that does not have those resources, and help support these musicians through a time when they are unable to perform live due to the pandemic. Thank you!
